Soldiers from the 10th Mountain's Division's 2/30th Light Infantry unit and oppositional forces played by U.S. Marines from the 2nd Marine Logistics Group, Combat Logistics Regiment 27 engage in simulated military operations in an urban environment during the final force-on-force exercise in Bold Quest 2009. BQ09 is a demonstration that brings together nearly 1,000 professional warfighters and contractors from 11 countries and across the U.S. military to test in a field environment the technologies designed to eliminated fratricide on the battlefield and refine the emerging technology behind Digitally Aided Close Air Support. This year's Quest event is held at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C. and will utilize the bases 160,000 square acres of live fire ranges, tactical landing zones and instrumented evaluation areas to test and evaluate combat identification interoperability between the military services and our allies.
