U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Special Operations Command, hosted its first-ever Corporals Course on Stone Bay, aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 11-25. Marines with 2nd Marine Raider Support Battalion ran the course, graduating 29 Marines, nearly half of whom are assigned to Weapons Training Battalion, Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, and 8th Marine Regiment, 2d Marine Division. A lot of detailed planning was necessary prior to the course to alleviate any potential issues the instructors had anticipated, explained an instructor with 2nd MRSB. He said, “For the first (course), making everything happen from scratch, I think things went really well.” MARSOC plans to continue hosting Corporals Courses and making course seats available to other commands.
