Army Sgt. Lauren Swensson, a Combat Lifesaver instructor with 35th Infantry Division, prepares students taking the Combat Lifesaver Course for their final exercise on Aug. 2 at the Mission Training Complex in Leavenworth, Kan. During the final exercise, students are required to practice many of their newly learned skills including, calling in a nine line medevac request, applying tourniquets and pressure dressings, treating mental trauma, and moving wounded soldiers to a safe area.
