A black-and-white photograph of a person holding a magnifying lens or glass element up to their eye, creating a sharp, magnified view of the eye in contrast to the blurred background and hands. The composition uses selective focus to draw attention to the eye visible through the circular lens. The image has an artistic, experimental quality typical of analog film photography.

In the under-developed world, farmers plant the seed that comes to hand. Usually it's poor seed - too much doesn't germinate, or it's a mixture of strains, or it contains weeds, or it has been damaged by insects. Their labor in the field is less productive because they planted bad seed. In Brazil a team of U.S. agronomists is developing solutions to this problem, funded by the U.S. Foreign Aid Program under the Alliance for Progress
