A Luke F-16 Fighting Falcon flies over the Barry M. Goldwater Range Aug. 26, 2015, in southwestern Arizona. The BMGR consists of 1.7 million acres of land, and overhead are 57,000 cubic miles of restricted airspace. Management authority of BMGR is shared by Luke Air Force Base 56th Range Management Office, Arizona, who manages the eastern 1.05 million acres of the range known as BMGR-East, and Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, who manages the remaining western portion known as BMGR-West.
