Marine Corps Maj. Gen. Michael A. Rocco, commanding general of 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force, speaks to Marines with the air combat element aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4) during Exercise Dawn Blitz 2015, Sept. 3, 2015. Rocco explained that each Marine and aircraft within 3rd MAW plays a vital role in training such as DB 2015 and in real-life missions. Dawn Blitz is a multinational amphibious training exercise held off the coast and ashore of Southern California which included ESG-3 and 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade as well as Japan, Mexico, New Zealand participants and observers from Australia, Colombia and Chile.
