GULF OF ADEN (Aug. 27, 2015) A landing craft air cushion (LCAC), from Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 5, enters the welldeck of the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Anchorage is part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
