United States Army Spc. Craig Loughry, a 24-year-old native of Kent, Ohio, assigned to Dog Company, 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade, has the unenviable task of carrying his squad’s Carl Gustav M2CG recoilless rifle, which adds an additional 19 pounds to the already 30 pound pack on his back during a Lithuanian Land Forces Best Squad Competition they took part in at the Great Lithuanian Hetman Jonusas Radvila Training Regiment, in Rukla, Lithuania, Aug. 27, 2015. The two-day competition hosted units such as Great Britain, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Denmark and improves NATO’s ability to operate as a combined force, which increases it’s ability to deter aggressors.
