Spc. David Falthrop, an aircraft refueler with C Company (Rear), 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment, diligently watches as his colleagues conduct a hot refuel on a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter. On Aug. 1, 2015, four companies of the New Mexico National Guard’s 93rd Brigade, conducted a Joint Training Exercise with the goal of improving the efficiency of aeromedical evacuation from point-of-injury to patient stabilization at a Forward Surgical Team (Role II+) hospital. The companies participating were the 720th Transportation Company with detachments from Las Vegas and Santa Fe, New Mexico Medical Detachment, 1209th Area Support Medical Company, and C Company (Rear), 1st Battalion, 171st Aviation Regiment. This JTX allowed most Soldiers to interface in an environment that is not insulated, and challenged them to use their knowledge and skills. (Released, U.S. Army photo by Sgt.
