George Balancio, an aircraft attendant with Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, picks up a piece of gravel found when he swept up debris to prevent foreign object damage, Aug. 18, 2015. Balancio, a Kailua, Hawaii resident, prevents aircraft damage by using a FOD Boss sweeping attachment to clear debris. Personnel with MCAS K-Bay also use larger sweeper trucks with vacuums to clear debris. Civilian and military personnel with MCAS K-Bay share the mission of all of Marine Corps Base Hawaii: to provide facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
