150817-N-FO981-284 SAN DIEGO (Aug. 17, 2015) — Sailors assigned to Deck department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) prepare to moor the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) helicopter destroyer JS Hyuga (DDH 181) at Naval Base San Diego. Hyuga arrived in San Diego to participate in multinational, scenario-driven amphibious training exercise Dawn Blitz 2015. America is hosting the Hyuga during their stay in San Diego.
