A Trimble R8 base station collects satelite signals and relays positioning data between several R8 rovers on a survey site. U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers from the 650th Engineer Detachment (Survey & Design), from Oklahoma City, uses the Trimble R8 system to survey over 200 acres at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., to assist the Department of Public Works during a mission that took place July 19 to Aug. 7. These Soldiers provided the Department of Public Works with technical engineering expertise on several multimillion-dollar infrastructure projects that will help improve the military base.
