In honor of the 75th anniversary of Hill Air Force Base, the Experimental Aircraft Association’s B-17 “Aluminum Overcast” passes over Hangar 1, one of the oldest permanent buildings on Hill Air Force Base, Utah, Thursday, Aug. 13, 2015. In 1939, the base was given the name "Hill Field" in honor of Army Air Corps Maj. Ployer P. Hill, who died in a crash while testing a Boeing Model 299 aircraft that would ultimately become the B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber. (U.S. Air Force photo/Alex R. Lloyd)
