U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Paul J. Kennedy listens as Maj. David Gustafson briefs plans for Exercise Talisman Sabre 2015 at Bradshaw Field Training Area, Northern Territory, Australia, July 8. Exercises such as Talisman Sabre 2015 provide realistic, relevant training which is necessary to maintain regional security, peace, and stability. Talisman Sabre provides an invaluable opportunity to conduct operations in a combined, joint, and interagency environment that increases the U.S.-Australian alliance’s ability to plan and execute contingency responses, from combat missions to humanitarian assistance efforts. Kennedy is the commanding general of Marine Expeditionary Brigade, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
