A C-130 Hercules from the 43rd Airlift Wing at Pope Air Force Base, N.C., was dedicated to the Combined Joint Task Force 82 in honor of the cohesion of the Air Force and the Army in Afghanistan and was put on display for servicemembers to view the aircraft here, Oct. 5, 2009. A plaque is mounted in the C-130 stating "Certificate of Appointment, as Commanding Officer of the 440th Airlift Wing I do hereby declare Aircraft C-130 H2 87-9282 has been officially branded with the nose art of the 82nd Airborne Division, given under my hand at Pope Air Force Base this 25th day of October in the year of our Lord two thousand and eight. Signed Merle D. Hart, Colonel, USAFR, Commander."
