During the Recruiting Station Los Angeles change of command ceremony, Col. Eric C. Hastings (left), commanding officer of the 12th Marine Corps District, awards Maj. Dominique B. Neal (right) outgoing commanding officer of RSLA, with the Meritorious Service Medal, July 24. Neal relinquished his command to Maj. Aixa R. Dones after spending 37 months leading the largest recruiting station in the nation. Under Neal's command, RSLA enlisted 3,009 young men and women into the Marine Corps.
