Sgt. Ryan Dumont, the assistant air station captain at Aircraft, Rescue and Firefighting, Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, chats with Thaiha Vo-Le, an education and career specialist with the Education Center during the Education Expo at Mokapu Mall, July 23, 2015. More than 180 attendees visited more than 20 resource tables, including colleges and universities, at Mokapu Mall to share information with the Marines and Sailors of MCB Hawaii about Marine Corps Community Services, education opportunities and more. In addition, Marines were given the opportunity to receive credit for the College 101 Education Brief by attending the expo, provided they met certain requirements, such as correctly completing a series of written questions at the Education Center tent and visiting at least five schools during the expo. The questions included information about tuition assistance policy and procedure. The College 101 Education Brief is held Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Education Center. Per Marine Corps Order 1560.25, Marines must attend the brief to be eligible for TA. The mission of Marine Corps Base Hawaii provides facilities, programs and services in direct support of units, individuals and families in order to enhance and sustain combat readiness for all operating forces and tenant organizations aboard the installation.
