Lance Cpl. Jonathan Giner, an aviation technician calibrator with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 24, and an El Paso, Texas native, heads to the finish line during the Camp Smith Grueler 5K race at Bordelon Field aboard Camp H.M. Smith, July 18, 2015. Giner came in second place overall. Behind Giner are Aaron Sponseller, who came in third place overall, and Uilasho Francisco, who came in first place in the male age group 15 to 19. The race, which was part of the Commanding Officer’s Fitness Series, began and ended at Bordelon Field. Participants ran a portion of the race through a trail. Service members aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii could also earn points for their unit toward the 101 Days of Summer Program by participating in the Grueler.
