(June 5, 2015) Joao Ramos, a Massachusets Institute of Technology (MIT) mechanical engineering Ph.D. candidate, punches through drywall using Project Hermes, or Highly Effective Robotic Mechanical and Electromagnetic System, during Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Robotics Challenge. Twenty-five teams from around the world competed for $3.5 million in prizes as they navigated a simulated disaster-response course.
