SAN PEDRO, Calif. (March 8, 2015) Chief of Navy Reserve Vice Adm. Robin Braun displays a photo of Watertender 2nd Class Ernie Thompson aboard the USS Iowa Museum. Thompson, now 97 years old, served aboard the battleship USS Missouri during the Japanese surrender in 1945 in Tokyo Bay. Navy Operational Support Center Los Angeles organized a Los Angeles Reserve Recognition aboard the battleship in honor of Navy Reserve centennial to celebrate 100 years of service in the nation's defense in 2015.
