The race begins at the triathlon event hosted by the 419th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. The Soldiers were to swim five laps and then hand off their relay "D-ring" (which had their event number attached) to the next competitor on their team in order to begin the next step in the competition. Pictured above, Spc. Mitchell Daugherty, a native of Athens, Ohio, and a member of Bravo Troop 2/107 Cavalry, is in the lead during the swimming portion of the event.
