A Marine with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, looks into a wooded area through the rifle combat optics on his M16A4 service rifle July 9, 2015, aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., as part of observation lane training. During the training, Marines use the unaided eye and their RCOs to observe an area and identify objects. Observation lane training teaches Marines how to be vigilant in unfamiliar terrain or combat zones. Fox Co. completed the training as preparation for their upcoming assignment to the Unit Deployment Program.
