GULF OF ADEN (June 28, 2015) An AV-8B Harrier from the “Greyhawks” of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 161 (Reinforced), 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is given final instruction by U.S. Sailors with the USS Essex Amphibious Ready Group on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). The pilots maintain their flight readiness by performing take-off and landing drills. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed to maintain regional security in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
