Michael Hostage, U.S. Air Forces Central Command commander, Tatiana Gfoeller, U.S. ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Madalbek Toktobolotov, Chui province 1st deputy governor, and Marat Kutanov, Chui province Alamudun District 1st deputy mayor, cut the ribbon to the Birdik Village School on Sept. 1, 2009. Airmen and local Kyrgyz citizens from the Village of Birdik teamed together to renovate a school that officially began construction in April 2009.
