An Iraqi soldier takes aim during a reflexive live-fire qualification exercise, Sept. 9, at Combat Outpost Carver, Iraq, located outside of southeastern Baghdad. The range is part of the 1st Battalion, 505th Parachute Infantry Regiments' "Cold Steel" training academy, a weeklong course that teaches Iraqi Army soldiers basic combat skills including basic marksmanship courses, combat lifesaving courses, squad tactics and movements, and leadership classes.
