JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gabriel Valdes tests an experimental chemical compound that could protect aircraft components from corroding at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) June 23. Valdes, a recent high school graduate, has helped with the experiment during his time as an intern at FRCSE. Valdes plans to study chemical engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology; he was selected to participate in the Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Program and has interned at FRCSE for the past two years.
