Finnish marine Capt. Kjell Tӧrner (left) and U.S. Navy Capt. Todd Lewis, the commanders of the Combined Landing Force (CLF), the Combined Amphibious Task Force (CATF), respectively, discuss the amphibious landing rehearsal with their staff, June 12 aboard the British Royal Navy's HMS Ocean. Service members from Finland, Sweden, the Netherlands, the U.K., the U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army who comprise the CLF and CATF continued planning for the BALTOPS amphibious operations in Sweden and Poland. BALTOPS is an annually recurring multinational exercise designed to enhance flexibility and interoperability, as well as demonstrate resolve of allied and partner forces to defend the Baltic region.
