    II Marine Expeditionary Force   

    Marines with 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct patrols through combat town and interact with Afghan role players while members of a Quadrennial Defense Review panel look on at Camp Lejeune, N.C., Aug. 28, 2009. The QDR panel's visit to II MEF was to provide its members with an overview of Marine Corps amphibious capabilities and irregular warfare training.
