U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Brenda Mayes, a Reno native with the 435th Security Forces Squadron, 435th Contingency Response Group out of Ramstein, Germany, tightens a strap on a Latvian National Armed Forces soldier’s equipment during joint airborne training operations held at Lielvarde Air Base, Latvia, June 15. Mayes, along with other airmen from the 435th SFS, are currently deployed to Latvia and participated in the training as part of Saber Strike 2015 and subsequently, Operation Atlantic Resolve, an ongoing, multinational partnership focused on joint training and security cooperation between the U.S. and other NATO allies.
