A large gray military submarine is surfaced and navigating through a calm waterway, with personnel visible on its deck and conning tower. A flag, appearing to be green-white-red (possibly Italian), is visible on the sail/conning tower. The scene appears to be a port arrival or departure event, with observers on a nearby dock in the foreground.

The Italian Todaro-class submarine Scire makes her way up the Thames River to Naval Submarine Base New London. Scire will participate in a Joint Task Force Exercise with the Harry S. Truman Strike Group. JTFX is designed to test and evaluate the U.S. Navy's reaction to multiple wartime scenarios from small craft attacks to land-based missile attacks and is the final certification for a strike group preparing to deploy.
