B Company, 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division saw a change of command in a ceremony, Aug. 29, on Forward Operating Base Marez in Mosul, Iraq. The change of command between outgoing commander Capt. Dandrell Pernell from Meadville, Miss., and Capt. Victor Carreras from Bayamon, Puerto Rico, took place in front of the 3rd HBCT commander, a collection of the FOB's battalion commanders and command sergeants major and the Soldiers of the company. Pernell attributed his successful company command to his first sergeant. "Thank you for the best professional experience of my life," he said.
