150606-N-PO203-474 POMONA, California (June 6, 2015) Members of team THOR, a union of two robotics laboratories; the Robots and Mechanisms Lab (RoMeLa) at the University of California, Los Angeles, and the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception Lab (GRASP) at the University of Pennsylvania, communicate with their robot over a secure wireless network from a quarter mile away during the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Robotics Challenge (DRC) in Pomona, Calif. The DRC is a competition of robot systems and software teams vying to develop robots capable of assisting humans in responding to natural and man-made disasters. (U.S. Navy photo by John F.
