(June 6, 2015) Mineman 2nd Class Zerek Zimmerman, a Homer, N.Y., native assigned to USS Champion (MCM 4), displays a mine-neutralizing vehicle for a tour aboard the Avenger-class mine countermeasures ship during the 106th annual Rose Festival, during Portland Fleet Week and Rose Festival. The festival and Portland Fleet Week are a celebration of the sea services, with Sailors, Marines and Coastguardsmen from the U.S. and Canada making the city a port of call.
