Col. Gary M. Bowman, U.S. Army Center of Military History deputy commander, meets with Col. Maxine C. Girard, U.S. Army Central Area Support Group Qatar commander, at Camp As Sayliyah, Qatar, Aug. 23. Bowman, an Army historian, traveled to U.S. military installations in Kuwait and Qatar, as part of a research project outlining USARCENT activities during the Global War on Terrorism. According to Bowman, the document is primarily intended for internal use within the Department of Defense but a version will be made available from the U.S. Army Center of Military History Web site in late 2010.
