The artillery crewmen strain to lift the Howitzer onto its platform, Aug. 22, at Forward Operating Base Hammer, Iraq, located outside eastern Baghdad. Despite being artillerymen these Paratroopers conducted infantry-type missions such as foot patrols and clearance operations in Baghdad's al-Karradah district. The artillerymen are assigned to Battery A, 1st Battalion, 319th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad.
