150602-A-ZA034-019 COLÓN, Panama (June 2, 2015) - A dentist and dental assistant, both volunteering with the non-governmental organization (NGO) Project Hope, perform a dental procedure on a patient at a medical site established at the Centro Educativo Porfirio Melendez during Continuing Promise 2015 (CP-15). Project Hope volunteers are working alongside joint-military personnel and other NGOs during CP-15. Continuing Promise is a U.S. Southern Command-sponsored and U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet-conducted deployment to conduct civil-military operations including humanitarian-civil assistance, subject matter expert exchanges, medical, dental, veterinary and engineering support and disaster response to partner nations and to show U.S. support and commitment to Central and South America and the Caribbean.
