Brig. Gen. Edward Banta, commanding general of Marine Corps Installation West, receives a challenge coin from Gina McCarthy, Environmental Protection Agency administrator, at the public works building aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, May 20. McCarthy presented the 2015 EPA Green Challenge Award for energy to MCAS Miramar for having the greatest percentage reduction in energy use nationally and cutting its fuel oil consumption by 98%.
