JoAnn Lyles, mother of Lance Cpl. Jordan C. Haerter, who was posthumously awarded the Navy Cross for extraordinary heroism in his actions during Operation Iraqi Freedom, shows her support for bicyclists in the Second Annual Soldier Ride – The Hamptons, in Sag Harbor, N.Y., July 25. Marines of 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, traveled to Sag Harbor to participate in Soldier Ride, which was dedicated this year to the memory of their fallen brother, Haerter, to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.
