150514-N-IP531-008 WATERS SOUTH OF JAPAN (May 14, 2015) Military Sealift Command fleet replenishment oiler USNS Rappahannock (T-AO 204) pulls alongside the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN 73) in preparation for a fueling-at-sea. George Washington is underway conducting sea trials to evaluate and assess the ship's equipment status and personnel readiness for follow-on at-sea training. George Washington and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects and defends the collective maritime interests of the U.S. and its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
