Sgt. Douglas Owens, from Azel, Texas, formerly a heavy wheeled vehicle operator for Company E, 2nd Battalion, 227th Aviation Regiment, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavlary Division, Multi-National Division-Baghdad, looks out the side of a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter as a newly trained door gunner for Co. A, 2-227th, 1st ACB. Other ground maintainers like Owens have switched roles to door gunner in order to help support the mission in the skies over Baghdad.
