    III Marine Expeditionary Force   

    U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Sheldon M. Nelson, from Dillingham, Alaska, flew out of Kadena Air Base, Okinawa, Japan May 6 and landed in Kathmandu, Nepal May 7. U.S. Marines, sailors, soldiers and airmen landed in Nepal May 7 to begin an international joint-service humanitarian-aid mission after a 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal on April 25.
