A flare dropped from a C-130 Hercules illuminates the night sky before Philippine and U.S. Marines engage in a combined live-fire assault April 26 at Crow Valley, Philippines. The training event was part of the final field training exercise for the Marines at Balikatan 2015. The Marines combined to assault a simulated target using combined anti-armor teams, mortars and close air support from AH-1 Super Cobras. The exercise provided Marines with the III Marine Expeditionary Force the opportunity to train with their allies as a forward unit in the Philippines. Balikatan is an annual exercise that enhances military-to-military relations with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Joey S. Holeman, Jr./Released)
