CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. - A CH-53 "Super Stallion" with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 466, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, drops water in a mock fire area during an aerial firefighting exercise at Las Pulgas Lake here, April 30. Aviation and ground units from Camp Pendleton, 3rd MAW, Navy Region Southwest, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and the San Diego Sheriff’s Department participated in the annual exercise, which provides ready, trained and certified military and civilian resources to combat wildland fires in the region.
