Sergeant William J. Schneider marks a tree at the Croatan National Forest in New Bern, North Carolina, during the Single Marine Programs inaugural service day, April 22, 2015. Schneider spray-painted the tree to indicate where endangered woodpeckers nest. Hundreds of Marines and Sailors of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, North Carolina, participated in the event.
