Denali South District Ranger John Leonard presents a National Park Service token of appreciation to Lt. Col. Thomas Barrett, commander of the 1st Battalion, 52d Aviation Regiment April 27, 2015, for his unit's assistance in once again ferrying equipment and supplies. Soldiers and CH-47F Chinook helicopters made short work of delivering several thousand pounds of equipment to base camps at 7,000 and 14,000 feet on Mount McKinley for the 2015 climbing season, saving money and time for the NPS, and gaining invaluable training time at elevation and in conditions which they are often asked to operate.
