First Sgt. Kirk Liljestrom has been the first sergeant of the U.S. Army Reserve 312th Engineer Company, based in Duluth, Minn., since 2014. The 312th has seen a turnaround in its retention and recruiting based on an atmosphere of caring about each Soldier and their families while providing meaningful training during each battle assembly.
