Troopers from 2nd Squadron “Sabre”, 3rd Cavalry Regiment are recognized for their valorous and honorable actions in the face of the enemy during an awards ceremony held April 22 at Sabre Field on Fort Hood, Texas. The awards were presented for actions performed during their recent deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Resolute Support from July 2014 to February 2015. The medals awarded included a Bronze Star Medal for Valor, numerous Army Commendations Medals for Valor, Combat Action Badges, and more than thirty Purple Hearts. (U.S. Army photo by Staff Sgt.
