    An opposition force soldier from the 5th Royal Australian Regiment exchanges fire with an Marine from Company K, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines at the Urban Operations Training Facility during Exercise Talisman Saber 2009. OPFOR personnel are role playing as enemies for Australian and U.S. personnel in the exercise. TS09 is a biennial combined training activity, designed to train Australian and US forces in planning and conducting combined task force operations which will improve ADF/US combat readiness and inter-operability. This exercise is a major undertaking which reflects the closeness of our alliance and the strength of the military-military relationship.
