U.S. Marine Cpl. Caleb Martin, a communication specialist with 1st Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, and a Scottsville, Va., native, calls in the coordinates of his platoon while Philippine Marines hold security during integration training, April 18, at the Naval Education Training Center in Zambales, Philippines, during exercise Balikatan 2015. Marines from both countries rehearsed three days before performing a simulated amphibious assault on April 21, demonstrating their combined ship-to-shore procedures. Balikatan is an annual bilateral training exercise with the U.S. and the Philippines aimed at enhancing readiness and military-to-military relations, territorial defense and humanitarian assistance and disaster response operations.
