The memorial run was for Boatswain's Mate 1st Class Michael J. Pernaselli, 27, from Monroe, N.Y., Signalman 2nd Class Christopher E. Watts, from Knoxville, Tenn., and Coast Guardsman Damage Controlman 3rd Class Nathan B. Bruckenthal, 24, from Smithtown, N.Y., who were killed April 24, 2004, during a maritime interception operation when the dhow they were intercepting self-detonated in the Northern Arabian Gulf.
